INJURY UPDATES





>> Tim Howard out for 4 months: The United States Goalkeeper suffered an injury in the World Cup qualifiers against Mexico. He now has to undergo a surgery for groin injury and that will see him miss four months of action. This will come as a big blow for his side Colorado Rapids and also the United States National team.

>> Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Claudio Bravo back from injury: Chile coach Juan Antonio Pizza has confirmed that both Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal are set to lineup for Chile in their World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay on Tuesday. Alexis is said to have recovered speedily from a calf problem sustained in training. For the good of the game, lets hope they are not being rushed back and hopefully nobody suffers a relapse.

>> Per Mertesacker set for return: The German is seemingly ready to make his comeback from a serious knee injury he sustained in pre-season. He provided a positive update on his twitter handle about a successful rehabilitation. He will have a big battle for first team place with Mustafi and Koscielny the preferred options in the center of defense so far this season.

>> Arjen Robben fit for Dortmund clash: The Dutch man suffered muscular problem in Netherlands win over Luxembourg. Bayern Munich have since allayed fear of a serious injury and declared him fit for their massive weekend clash against Borussia Dortmund.

>> Wayne Rooney out injured: The England International is set to miss England's friendly match against Spain after being withdrawn from the squad due to injury, he suffered a knee injury in training.

>> Griezmann in race to be fit for the Madrid derby: Antoine Griezmann picked up an injury while on duty for France against Sweden. Test results from Atletico Madrid do not point to any serious injury but he now has to prove his fitness in the coming days with the clash against Real Madrid looming.
