MATCH PREVIEW: NIGERIA VS ALGERIA

The Super Eagles of Nigeria face a stern test in a crunch world cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. The new head coach of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr has been off to a flier with a 100 percent record in charge but the encounter with the Dessert Warriors of Algeria will test his mettle. Nigeria currently sit top of Group B with 3 points after 1 game, having defeated Zambia in the opener. While Algeria sit on a point having been held to a draw by Cameroon.
Both sides have squared off 18 times, with the Super Eagles boasting the upper hand with 8 victories, the North Africans have won 6 times and the other 4 matches ended in stalemates.
The Algerians will look to great attacking talents like Riyad Mahrez, Sofiane Feghouli, Slimani, Yacine Brahimi, Nabil Bentaleb to punish any lapses on the part of the Super Eagles. Nigeria will be pinning its hopes on the young talents of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, and the experience of Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel to emerge victorious.
It promises to be an enthralling encounter.
